This was the first really "big" piece that I decided to paint, as a part of "Exhibit A" in 2011. I knew that I wanted to make a figure of someone in a lake of fire, and that I wanted it to be the largest piece in the show. After I got the basic shape of the figure started, I kept returning to the piece, applying layer after layer of different colours almost relentlessly until I finally came up with what you see here. At four feet wide by three feet tall, it's tied with 2013's "Arousal" as the largest piece that I've ever produced. It is an exceptionally dark painting, and I'm quite pleased with it. Thoughts?
