When I started "Avenge, Angel, Avenge," I was feeling very frustrated and somewhat vengeful. I wanted something that looked somewhat violent and exciting, and I knew that I wanted something with a red background. I ended up creating a grafitti-like, Keith Haring-esque "angel" figure holding a bloody knife with a background that looks, very simplistically, like the fires of the underworld. I like to imagine that the angel sneaked out of Heaven and went downstairs to hunt down some demons and settle a score. There was some special texturing used in the "blood" on the angel's knife to make it appear a bit "clotted" and a little shinier than the rest of the painting. Thoughts?
