The Soundtrack to 2019 - "It's About Time."

Every
year, I put together a "soundtrack" for that particular year.
Early
on, every year gets a title. I get the title in my head early
in the year (or sometimes late in the previous year), and then as the
year progresses, it's interesting to see how the title applies to so
much that happens.
Here
are the titles for the last few years:
2015
- "Writer Seven."
2016 - "Prepare to Qualify."
2017 - "A Famine in Your Heart."
2018 - "Bear Witness (Every Story, Every End)."
2019 - "It's About Time."
I
allow myself fifteen tracks per disc. If a year is especially
special for one reason or another, then I'll plan out multiple discs.
(For instance, 2017 had two discs - "Alpha" and "Omega,"
plus a special mixed set called "The Eleven.") Yes,
I know I'm weird.
2019 was
a crazy and eventful year, both in my regular life and inside my own
diseased brainpan. A cancer scare, serious sleep problems, major
changes in the cast, a significant falling out with a close friend,
my decision to all-but-quit DJing publicly, and other factors all combined
to make 2019 unexpectedly volatile. It was a year that really
changed me, broke me, and made me grittier and darker inside... and
the ending set me up for more changes to come.
So, this
very special year got three discs worth of soundtrack plus one "mixed"
chillout set.
