DJ Badger: The News and the Journal

A small update.

I basically wanted to post something to let everyone know that I'm still alive and things are going quite well.  I hope everybody had a good 4th of July.  Ours went well, and it was made even better by the fact that Jesse Helms finally kicked the proverbial bucket.

I have a few things to say, but for sake of timing and brevity (I'm very tired and must be up in about 4.5 hours), most will be short.  Also, I don't want to give away too many details in some cases.

Here we go:

Lanna and X are doing great.  X is now 15 months old and loves walking around.  He's quite honestly the most beautiful baby I've ever seen, and he has a very deep appreciation for the words "go," "okay," and "hello."

I have a remarkably awesome new day job.  The hours are good, the pay is uberswank (I make enough that I can start buying more DJ equipment again), and the working environment (so far) is fantastic.  I feel lucky and blessed to have it.

There is another big party on the horizon.  This one will be BIG.  HUGE.  MASSIVE.  WELL WICKED.  I believe this will be the most significant event that I've ever presented.  Even the promotional art (still in its early stages) is going to rock like a Magikist.  Stay tuned.

I just got another new light effect for the show (something green and lasery... okay, it's a green laser) and will be adding more in the future.  Insert drooling noises here.

I have been purchasing, in gradual shipments, large portions of a rare vinyl DJ-only remix archive from a lady I found online.  Most of the records have been out of print for 10-15 years, and yet somehow she has still kept them in pristine, sealed condition.  It's amazing and I feel honoured being able to bring them over into my collection/arsenal.

SEPHORA opened a location in Woodland Hills Mall!  I've already been there twice; for a flaming metrosexual such as myself, it's like being a kid a candy store.  I have only made one significant purchase there, though... a bottle of Thierry Mugler's Ice Man, which is quite impressive indeed.  Mugler rocks.

Okay.  That's enough for now.  More later...!
