If you raved to it in the early 1990s, there's a good chance it'll be included.

All partygoers 21 and older are welcome at this very special annual event, but musically, it is geared towards those of you who attended raves and clubs like Tulsa's classic IKON venue in the early 1990s.

Musical purists would be quick to point out that a lot of what we remember as "techno" wasn't really, truly techno music.  Some tracks would be classified as techno, while others would be considered big beat.  Some would be Belgian new beat, while others were early drum + bass... etc., etc.

This party will celebrate the span of music that most of us considered "techno" or "rave" music from back in the day, without worrying too much about the exact subgenres.  It will be a combination of "techno and techno by-products."

If you remember loving "techno music" or "rave music" at the clubs in the early 1990s, odds are we're on the same wavelength.   Think of such artists as LA Style, Apotheosis, the Shamen, Radioactive Goldfish, Sonz of a Loop da Loop Era, Moby, Lords of Acid, and Eon.

In addition, TMJ has noted that he intends on injecting a few more industrial-edged tracks from the classic "Ikon era" into his setlists.  So, you shouldn't be too surprised if you hear something like a KMFDM or a Thrill Kill Kult track slipped into the mix.

Both Badger and TMJ will be doing something extra-special at this event:  Spinning from CDs and REAL VINYL RECORDS without using a laptop, midi controller, or any kind of automatic sync button.

That is pretty much unheard of in this day and age... a DJ not resorting to a laptop or just strolling into the venue with a thumb drive?

However, Badger is known as one of the last remaining DJs in the Tulsa area who still collects and regularly plays rare remixes from actual vinyl records whenever he can.  This type of "without a net" performance is about as "old school" as you can get, and thus it fits in perectly with the overall vibe of the annual "An Old School Techno Night" series.

To get you ready, here are a few sample classic techno mixes, available for FREE (and legal!) streaming:
