A
very special independent coffee shoppe,
serving Tulsa for over a decade.
This party will be held at
the Gypsy Coffee House, located at 303 N. Cincinnati in Tulsa.
The Gypsy has been in business
for over 10 years, and features the longest-running open mic night in
Tulsa (every Tuesday at 8:00pm). They have hosted a wide variety
of music events, including the previous Badger/TMJ parties "Mary-Kate
and Ashley Turn 18" (2004), "Halloween in August" (2004),
"Hallowmania" (2004), "Retro Without Shame" (2005),
and some other event in 2006.
THERE IS NO COVER
CHARGE WHATSOEVER TO GET INTO THIS EVENT!
Can people drink at
the Gypsy?
If you're looking for alcohol,
we've got good news and bad news. The bad news: The Gypsy
doesn't serve alcohol. The good news: The Gypsy is just
"stumbling distance" from some of downtown Tulsa's finest
drinking establishments. (Plus, you can also just get all jacked
up on caffeine!)
The important news:
If anybody gets completely out of control - like some people were at
that "last event" in 2006 - they'll be asked to leave.
How do you get there?
The easiest way to give directions
to the Gypsy, for anyone who knows downtown Tulsa, is this:
"Do
you know where Spaghetti Warehouse is?
The Gypsy Coffee House is right behind it."
Here's a map:
Coming
on Highway 412/244 from the west?
Take the Cincinnati/Detroit
exit on the left side of the road (as if you're going to the OSU-Tulsa
campus), then take a right at the first stoplight onto Cincinnati, which
is a one-way street. A block or so down, the Gypsy will be on your left.
Coming on Highway
412/244 from the east?
Take the Detroit/Cincinnati exit on the right side of
the road (as if you're going to the OSU-Tulsa campus). Go straight at
the first light (Detroit), then take a left at the second light onto
Cincinnati, which is a one-way street. A block or so down, the Gypsy
will be on your left.
Coming on Detroit
from the south?
Just keep going north until you see the Spaghetti Warehouse,
then take a left immediately after you pass it. The Gypsy parking area
will be on your right.
Coming on Highway
51?
Take Highway 51 to Highway 75, headed north. Then see
below.
Coming on Highway
75 from the south?
Get into the left lane as you approach the Highway 412
west exit. Take the exit to your left, then - as you get onto Highway
412 - stay in the far right lane. Take the next exit to your right;
that will be the Detroit/Cincinnati exit mentioned above. Follow the
rest of the "Coming on Highway 412/244 from the east?" directions,
noted above.
